{My thoughts} – This story is based on the myth about King Midas. King Midas had wanted everything he touched to turn to gold, so in this book toddler Midas makes a wish for everything to be yellow. He wants his clothes to be yellow, what he colors to be yellow and even his green dinosaur. Eventually he gets tired of the color yellow and he wishes for things to be back to the way they use to be. It is lucky for toddler Midas that his mom just has to change his clothes and toss his dinosaur into the washer to get the color to change back or change at all. King Midas had a much rougher time dealing with his wish.
On the back page is a small summarized more in depth version of the myth. It’s really nice to be able to read through it and see how the book and the actual myth go together so nicely.
This book is well written and the illustration go along so nicely with the story. I really like how the author and the writer worked together to make such a wonderful story for children to enjoy for years to come. This is must have book for any parent that loves Mythology and would like to be able to share their love of it with their children beginning at a young age.
