{Synopsis} – This silly rhyming story about ten turkeys teaches children how to count backwards.
“Looky!” says a silly turkey swinging from a vine.
Gobble gobble wibble wobble.
Whoops! Now there are nine.
Girls and boys will gobble up this hilarious story about ten goofy turkeys and their silly antics: swinging from a vine, strutting on a boar, doing a noodle dance, and more. Veteran author Tony Johnston has written a joyful text, which first-time illustrator Richard Deas brings to life as wild and wacky fun!
{My thoughts} – I was browsing the children’s book section at TJ Max and ran across this cute countdown book for Thanksgiving. Since Thanksgiving is next week, I thought why not and got it for the girls. I haven’t read it to them yet, but have pages through and read the book myself, twice now.
This is a neat book similar to the 5 little monkey’s jumping on the bed series of books. I really enjoy silly books like this that help children to effectively learn, without them realizing they are in fact learning something. It has beautiful illustrations that blend nicely with the words on the pages of the book. I love that it is a board book and that my little one’s will be able to turn the pages on their own and flip through the book during quiet time here at home.
I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a nice little holiday book to share with the little loved one. I think it has the potential of becoming one of those loved books that get read over and over again!
Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
