I cannot believe that I have been reviewing books since 2011. I didn’t officially start reviewing for independent authors until December 15, 2012. I hadn’t even really built up a good amount of reviews at that time, but I’d thought I’d throw my hat in the ring and see if I could get some read for review books. I’d signed up with The Book Reviewer Pages and it wasn’t long until I’d received my first request.
The Daemon Whisperer by Candice Bundy. I remember being so excited when I’d gotten that request. I still have the original e-mail in my inbox. There are something that you just don’t get rid of I’d suppose. You can read my review by clicking here. Considering it was one of my first reviews I don’t think it was too shabby. But I do agree it could have been better.
I have been going through some of my older reviews, re-reading the books and writing new reviews for them. I think that if someone is really interested in learning about a book, that the best way for them to learn that is by having a nice review that will give them the ability to learn more without having the book destroyed for them.
I’m not going to sit here and say that my reviews are the best, because in all honesty they aren’t. I have however, come a long way from when I had first began. I have had the pleasure of reviewing many books for many wonderful independent authors in the past and I hope to continue to review for many of those same authors and new one’s into the future. I’ve also had the pleasure of reviewing for many well-known authors and publishers in the past and hope to continue to review for them into the future.
I love being able to voice my opinion on books and to let authors and publishers know what I think about them. I also love sharing what my children think about them, when they are able to read them, before I have the time to post the reviews.
Looking into the future of this page, I am hoping to expand more. I am hoping to post reviews that aren’t only centered around books, but products, toys, movies, television and games as well. I am also hoping to start making this page more personal. I feel like I don’t really have a huge personal element to it and I am hoping to change that. I know that I have hopes and goals for the page, but I am not sure about how much of it I will actually be able to accomplish this year. I suppose only time will tell, but I do hope to try and get off to the right start.
I’d like to thank all the authors and publishers that have given me the opportunities to read and review for them. I hope that we can all continue to work together into the future. That we can continue to help spreading our love of books and reading, and helping to get those books into the hands of those that enjoy them as much as we do!
