{Nancy Drew: The Palace of Wisdom: Kelly Thompson}

{Nancy Drew: The Palace of Wisdom: Kelly Thompson}

{Synopsis} – Nancy Drew is seventeen and good at everything… ESPECIALLY solving crimes. But her totally-in-control-and-obviously-running-perfectly-smooth-(but-not-really) life hits a snag when a mysterious message drags her back to the hometown she left behind. There she’ll have to find out which of her friends are still her friends, which are enemies, and who exactly is trying to kill her…and (hopefully) stop them before they succeed.

KELLY THOMPSON (Hawkeye, Star Wars, Rogue & Gambit) and JENN ST-ONGE (Giant Days, The Misfits) team up to present an all-new modern spin on a classic mystery icon!

{My thoughts} – In this graphic novel we get the pleasure of following the teenage Nancy Drew and her friends around, while they solve some mysteries in her hometown.

I am probably one of few individuals that have never read any of the original Nancy Drew Books or The Hardy Boys Books. They have been in my TBR for what feels like an eternity. There are so many new books coming out that always end up getting read first. When I’d seen this was available I wanted to take the time and review it because it seemed like something I’d be interested in. I was right. I absolutely loved it. I loved every aspect of it!

I enjoyed the vivid and raw emotional displayed in the illustrations of the characters as they’d worked through somethings. The one issue that comes to mind is when George and Nancy were having a cry it our moment and it just seemed so emotional and so raw! It rally helped me to feel like I was right there experiencing their pain with them.

There are so many good things that I can say about this graphic novel. However, I highly recommend you get a copy for yourself and give it a read! I promise you will not be disappointed. I am looking forward to reading anymore issues that will be released in this series.

This is without a doubt a brilliantly done reboot! It is one book that I am without a doubt purchasing for my daughter. Graphic Novels and Manga are her thing and I am always looking for ways to share that passion with her!

Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
