{Synopsis} – Alexander is still on the look-out for monsters. Now he thinks they’re at school…. The lunch menu is NOT normal — instead of good-for-you meals, there’s ice cream and pie every day. His whole class is crying. And his friend Rip goes missing.
{My thoughts} – Meat-Eating Veggies? Does that even sound normal? I can see children coming up with these strange things though. A child’s imagination is a power tool.
When you think about it, how many children do you know don’t like veggies? Quite a few if you ask me. This helps to give a reasonable explanation to that concept. Although, I don’t entirely agree with it.
Alex, Rip and Nikki have to figure out what is going on within the school. It is extremely cold and all the students are having to wear lost and found warmer coats. It is also extremely odd that since Alex has decided to bring his own lunch that they are all the sudden having ice-cream and pie for lunch.
The children eventually figure out some veggies are behind it and that they aren’t nice. They want to fatten everyone up and then eat them. It appears that they are out seeking revenge for all the times that they have been ate by humans.
This is a fun book, with a few twists and turns. It’s face paced and gets to the point rather quickly. I look forward to reading the next book in the series very soon.
Final Conclusion: 5 Star Rating.
